H O U S E  R E S O L U T I O N

PROCLAIMING JUNE 27, 2004 AS "THE CARDI FAMILY REUNION RECOGNITION

DAY"

     

     Introduced By: Representatives Montanaro, Moura, and Landroche

     Date Introduced: June 22, 2004

 

 

     WHEREAS, The Cardi family, on June 27, 2004, will celebrate their second family

reunion at Camp Westwood in Coventry; and

     WHEREAS, In the early nineteen hundreds, three young brothers bearing the proud name

of Cardi migrated to the United States and their sister remained in Italy; and

     WHEREAS, The Cardi family members have produced the following offspring: 27

children; 69 grandchildren; 130 great grandchildren; 111 great-great grandchildren; and 2 great-

great-great grandchildren; and

     WHEREAS, The Cardi family has had a profound influence on the quality of life we

enjoy and have made tremendous contributions to the way of life throughout the state of Rhode

Island; and

     WHEREAS, Approximately three hundred family members from throughout the United

States are to attend this reunion, hoping it will remain a family tradition; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby proclaims June 27, 2004 as "The Cardi Family Reunion

Recognition Day"; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Cardi Family.
