A N A C T

RELATING TO CITIES AND TOWNS -- TAXATION -- TOWN OF RICHMOND

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 44-5-2, the town council of the

town of Richmond is hereby authorized to levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006

and ending June 30, 2007 in an amount not to exceed one hundred nine and one-half percent

(109.5%) of the amount levied and certified by the town of Richmond for the prior year, subject

to approval by a majority of electors of said town who are present and who vote at the next

annual financial town meeting.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
