A N  A C T

RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES - COMPUTER CRIME

          

     Introduced By: Representatives Sullivan, Schadone, Brien, and Palumbo

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

 

     SECTION 1. Section 11-52-3 of the General Laws in Chapter 11-52 entitled "Computer

Crime" is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

     11-52-3. Intentional access, alteration, damage, or destruction -- Intentional access.

-- Whoever, intentionally, and without authorization, and for fraudulent or other illegal purposes,

directly or indirectly, accesses, alters, damages, or destroys any computer, computer system,

computer network, computer software, computer program, or data contained in a computer,

computer system, computer program, or computer network shall be guilty of a felony and shall be

subject to the penalties set forth in section 11-52-5.

 

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
