A N A C T

RELATING TO PROPERTY - PROPERTY BY POSSESSION AND PRESCRIPTION

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Chapter 34-7 of the General Laws entitled "By Possession and Prescription"

is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

34-7-9. Land preserved for open space and conservation purposes. – Any land held or

preserved by a nonprofit corporation or nonprofit association for purposes of conservation or

open space is not subject to adverse possession or prescription.

     SECTION 2. This act would take effect upon passage.
