A N A C T

RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- GENERAL POWERS

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

     SECTION 1. Section 45-2-23 of the General Laws in Chapter 45-2 entitled "General

Powers" is hereby repealed.

45-2-23. City of Providence -- Bureau of licenses. -- Notwithstanding the provisions of

section 45-6-2 or any other general or special law to the contrary, the bureau of licenses of the

city of Providence is authorized to impose a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500) upon

any person, firm, or corporation which holds a license issued by the bureau for the violation of

any law, ordinance, condition, rule, or regulation applicable to the license.

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
