H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N
AMENDING THE
MEMBERSHIP OF THE SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY AND ADDRESS CONCERNS
REGARDING TEEN VIOLENCE IN THE COMMUNITY

RESOLVED,
That the composition of the special legislative commission created by
resolution
No. 189 passed by the House of Representatives at its January session, A.D.
2007, and
approved
April 25, 2007 entitled, "House Resolution Creating a Special Legislative
Commission
To
Study And Address Concerns Regarding Teen Violence In The Community" be
and the same
is
hereby amended by increasing the membership from eleven (11) members to
seventeen (17)
members,
by adding the following members: one of whom shall be a representative from the
department
of children, youth and families, to be appointed by the director; one of whom
shall be
an
attorney, to be appointed by the Speaker of the House; one of whom shall be a
representative
from
the Family Court, to be appointed by Chief Judge of the Family Court; one of
whom shall
be
a representative from the attorney general's office, appointed by the attorney
general; one of
whom
shall be a representative from the Institute for the Study and Practice of
Non-violence, to
be
appointed by the executive director; and one of whom shall be a Teacher from
the Providence
School
System, appointed by the Superintendent.
