H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N
RESPECTFULLY
REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND TO FLY THE UNITED STATES
ARMY FLAG FROM THE FLAGSTAFF ON TOP OF THE STATE HOUSE EVERY YEAR ON JUNE 14TH
IN HONOR OF THE BIRTHDAY OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY

WHEREAS,
June 14th is the birthday of the United States Army. The Army is the oldest
military
service of the United States and has, in its 232 year history, served our
nation honorably
and
with great sacrifice in the defense of freedom and liberty at home and abroad;
now, therefore
be
it
RESOLVED,
That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and
Providence
Plantations hereby respectfully requests that the Governor of the State of
Rhode
Island
fly the United States Army flag from the flagstaff on top of the State House
every year on
June
14th, in honor of the birthday of the United States Army; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to
transmit
duly certified copies of this resolution to the Secretary of the United States
Army and the
Governor
of the State of Rhode Island.
