A N A C T

RELATING TO THE CHARLESTOWN FIRE DISTRICT

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. “An Act to Incorporate the Charlestown Fire District passed at the January

Session, A.D. 1974,” as amended, is further amended by adding thereto a new Section 12, as

follows:

Section 12. The district may purchase and hold real estate and personal estate, and

alienate and convey that real and personal estate. All real and personal estate held by the district

shall be exempt from state and local taxation.

SECTION 2. Section 2 of “An Act to Incorporate the Charlestown Fire District passed at

the January Session, A.D. 1974,” as amended, is amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Every eligible voter shall have the right to vote at all meetings of said district,

provided, such person has paid all taxes he or she owes said district eight (8) days before said

meeting.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage.
