H O U S E  R E S O L U T I O N

RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT THE RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION INSTALL "CONTROLLED TRAFFIC CROSSING LIGHTS" ON OLD RIVER ROAD IN MANVILLE, NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE MANVILLE MEMORIAL PARK

     WHEREAS, The Town of Lincoln is in the process of conducting a major renovation to

Manville Memorial Park this summer. This park attracts hundreds of children throughout the

summer and it is anticipated that their number will increase once the renovations are complete.

Traffic on Old River road has increased dramatically since Route 99 was built. Presently, crossing

Old River Road is dangerous because of all this extra traffic; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests that the Rhode Island Department of

Transportation install “Controlled Traffic Crossing Lights” on Old River Road in Manville, near

the entrance to the Manville Memorial Park; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rhode Island Department of

Transportation.
