J O I N T R E S O L U T I O N

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN CLAIMS

     RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not

otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2009-2010 the sums stipulated to pay the claims of the

following:

     Senator Walter S. Felag Jr.

     The sum of $154.98 to pay the claim of Patricia A Bragantin of 21 Brown Street, Warren,

Rhode Island, 02885 for damages to her home when it was struck by airborne stones propelled by

a mowing procedure conducted by Department of Environmental Management employees in the

Town of Warren on or about August 14, 2008;

     Senator Louis P. DiPalma

     The sum of $1,304.60 to pay the claim of James T. Leavitt of 36 Wolcott Avenue,

Middletown, Rhode Island, 02842 for damages to his mobile home when it was struck by

airborne stones propelled by a mowing/weed whacking procedure conducted by Department of

Environmental Management employees at or near Fisherman’s Memorial Campground in the

Town of Narragansett on or about October 16, 2008;

     Senator Leo R. Blais

      The sum of $374.73 to pay the claim of Alfred L. Perrotti of 236 Westcott Road,

Scituate, Rhode Island, 02857 for damages to his vehicle when it was struck by airborne stones

falling from a Department of Environmental Management Division of Parks and Recreation dump

truck operated by employees of the division on Interstate 295 at or near route 37 in the City of

Cranston on or about November 19, 2008;

     Senator David E. Bates

     The sum of $264.45 to pay the claim of Frederico M. Pacheco of 555 Metacom Avenue,

Bristol, Rhode Island, 02809 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a roadway defect at or

near the Warren/Barrington town bridge as he was traveling south on Main Street in the Town of

Warren on or about January 29, 2009;

     Senator Leonidas P. Raptakis

     The sum of $158.57 to pay the claim of John A. Cambio of 3 Elmwood Court, Coventry,

Rhode Island, 02816 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a roadway defect at or near South

Main Street on Tiogue Avenue in the Town of Coventry on or about December 10, 2007;

     Senator Daniel P. Connors

     The sum of $510.93 to pay the claim of Carl G. Polo of 196 Old River Road, Route 1A

South, Lincoln, Rhode Island, 02865 for damages to his vehicle when it struck roadway debris

while driving south on Route 4 in North Kingstown on or about December 18, 2008;

and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the

general treasurer for the payment of said sums.
