H O U S E  R E S O L U T I O N

     WHEREAS, Maj-en, a thirteen year old Samoyed, has interacted with thousands of

schoolchildren and adults as a tireless therapy working dog; and

     WHEREAS, This House recognizes the beauty and magic of the human-animal

companion bond and understands that the unconditional love between a pet and a person can go a

long way toward building a friendlier and more peaceful world for all living things; and

     WHEREAS, We also celebrate the creativity of schoolchildren to write, draw, and sing

and the compassion of adults who give a caring and friendly smile, kind word, or assistance to

someone in distress; and

     WHEREAS, We are grateful for our four-legged friends who enrich our lives, our

families, and our society; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations honors Maj-en, a Samoyed therapy dog.
