A N A C T

RELATING TO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES -- LICENSES - LIQUOR

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

 

     SECTION 1. Section 3-5-18 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-5 entitled "Licenses

Generally" is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

     3-5-18. Signature on licenses -- Posting and exhibition. -- (a) Class A All retail licenses

issued under this chapter 7 of this title shall bear the signature written by hand of the clerk of the

licensing board, body, or officials issuing them, and shall not be printed, stamped, typewritten,

engraved, photographed or cut from one instrument and attached to another and shall be kept

posted in plain view displayed by the licensee in a conspicuous position in the room or place

licensed, on the premises and shall be exhibited on demand to any sheriff or deputy sheriff of the

county, to any city or town sergeant, constable, officer or member of the city or town police or to

any member of the department of state police or agent of the department.

      (b) All other licenses issued under this chapter shall bear the signature written by hand of

the clerk of the licensing board, body, or officials issuing them, and shall not be printed, stamped,

typewritten, engraved, photographed or cut from one instrument and attached to another, and

shall be kept posted in plain view by the licensee in a conspicuous position in the room or place

licensed, and shall be exhibited on demand. Said license All retail licenses shall be maintained

displayed within the premises but need not be posted. The license shall be exhibited to any sheriff

or deputy sheriff of the county, to any city or town sergeant, constable, officer or member of the

city or town police or to any member of the department of state police or agent of the department

who request proof that the establishment is duly licensed.

 

     SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
