H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N

HONORING REPRESENTATIVE EDWIN R. PACHECO FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND

     WHEREAS, It is with regret and sadness that we bid adieu to our good friend and

colleague, The Honorable Edwin R. Pacheco, who is leaving the Rhode Island House of

Representatives in order to take on the challenges of chairing the Rhode Island Democratic Party;

and

     WHEREAS, Born in 1981, Representative Pacheco attended Burrillville High School and

received his Bachelor’s degree in 2005 from the University of Rhode Island; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Pacheco was sworn in to the Rhode Island House of

Representatives serving District 47 and the people of Burrillville and Glocester, on January 2nd of

2005. He had previously been elected to serve on the Burrillville School Committee, where he

had acted as both Chairman and Vice Chair; and

     WHEREAS, Having earned the respect of his peers for his tremendous diligence and

talents, Representative Pacheco was appointed Vice Chair of the House Committee on Municipal

Government and the House Committee on Oversight. He has also served as the Secretary of the

House Committee on Separation of Powers; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Pacheco’s life beyond the State House is also tremendously

full and rewarding. He is married to his lovely wife, Claudia, and together they are the proud

parents of daughter, Savannah; and

     WHEREAS, Representative Pacheco’s leadership and tireless devotion to the citizens of

the Ocean State have earned him our unqualified admiration and respect. He will most assuredly

be missed in the chamber, but we are certain that he will still be quite visible and audible around

the state; now, therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and

Providence Plantations hereby honors Representative Edwin R. Pacheco as he concludes his

service in the Rhode Island General Assembly. We thank him for a job well done, and extend our

sincere wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to The Honorable Edwin R. Pacheco.
