J O I N T R E S O L U T I O N

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN CLAIMS

     RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not

otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2010-2011 the sums stipulated to pay the claims of the

following:

     Senator M. Teresa Paiva Weed

     The sum of $998.46 to pay the claim of Melinda Thomas of 63 Mount Hope Avenue,

Jamestown, Rhode Island 02835, for damages to her vehicle when it was struck by roadway

debris at or near the Point Street Bridge on Route 95 North in the city of Providence, on or about

April 14, 2009;

     Senator Walter S. Felag, Jr.

     The sum of $1,200.00 to pay the claim of Silverio Borges of 65 Narrows Road, Bristol,

Rhode Island 02809, for damages his boat sustained while being boarded by Department of

Environmental Management officers, when he was fishing at or near the Navy Base in Newport,

Rhode Island, on or about November 14, 2009;

     Senator Rhoda E. Perry

     The sum of $875.00 to pay the claim of Janine Tasca Sawada of 140 Laurel Avenue,

Providence, Rhode Island 02906, for damage done to her home by an inspector from the Rhode

Island Department of Health, on or about July 22, 2009;

     Senator Dominick J. Ruggerio

     The sum of $94.61 to pay the claim of Solomon T. Waldu of 49 Shiloh Street,

Providence, Rhode Island 02904, for lost wages caused by employees of Eleanor Slater Hospital

who were not following proper protocols, on or about July 7, 2009;

     Senator Louis P. DiPalma

     The sum of $500.00 to pay the claim of Mr. Alfred E. Goodwin of 14 Ocean Drive, Little

Compton, Rhode Island 02837, for damages to his vehicle when it struck a roadway defect while

traveling east on Colebrook Road in the area of the Simmons Mill in the town of Little Compton

on or about April 1, 2010; and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his

orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of said sums.
