S E N A T E R E S O L U T I O N

RECOGNIZING FIDELITY INVESTMENTS' 15TH ANNIVERSARY ON ITS SMITHFIELD,

RHODE ISLAND, CAMPUS

     WHEREAS, In March of 1998, Fidelity Investments opened its first building on its

Smithfield, Rhode Island, campus; and

     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments has consistently expanded and now employs more than

3,500 full-time employees in Smithfield; and

     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments has built three LEED-certified buildings on its campus,

totaling over 1.1 million square feet; and

     WHEREAS, Fidelity employees serve on the boards of more than 50 nonprofit

organizations in Rhode Island; and

     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments is one of the world’s largest providers of financial

services, with assets under administration of $4.0 trillion; and

     WHEREAS, Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investments management,

retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and many other

financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals and institutions; now,

therefore be it

     RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations

hereby celebrates June 25, 2013, as the 15th anniversary of Fidelity Investments’ grand opening in

Smithfield and commends Fidelity Investments and its employees for their significant

contributions to the State of Rhode Island; and be it further

     RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to

transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to John Muggeridge, Vice President of Public

Affairs at Fidelity Investments.
