J O I N T   R E S O L U T I O N

EXTENDING THE REPORTING AND EXPIRATION DATES AND AMENDING THE

MEMBERSHIP OF THE SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY RHODE

ISLAND'S ZONING AND SUBDIVISION ENABLING ACTS

                   RESOLVED, That the special legislative commission created by resolution No. 416

              passed by the General Assembly at its January session, A.D. 2013, and approved July 17, 2013

              entitled "Joint Resolution Creating a Special Legislative Commission To Study Rhode Island's

              Zoning and Subdivision Enabling Acts" is hereby authorized to continue its study and make a

              report to the General Assembly on or before January 15, 2015, and said commission shall expire

              on June 15, 2015, and be it further

                   RESOLVED, That the time for reporting authorized by resolution No. 416 passed by the

              General Assembly at its January session, A.D. 2013, and approved July 17, 2013, be and the same

              is hereby rescinded; and be it further

                   RESOLVED, That the composition of said legislative commission is hereby amended by

              changing the membership to eleven (11) members; one of whom shall be a member of the House

              of Representatives, to be appointed by the Speaker; one of whom shall be a member of the

              Senate, to be appointed by the President of the Senate; one of whom shall be the President of the

              Builders' Association, or designee; one of whom shall be the Executive Director of Grow Smart

              Rhode Island, or designee; one of whom shall be the Executive Director of the League of Cities

              and Towns, or designee; one of whom shall be the President of the Rhode Island Chapter of the

              American Planning Association, or designee; one of whom shall be the Associate Director of the

              Rhode Island Division of Planning, or designee; one of whom shall be a representative of the

              Office of Regulatory Reform, to be appointed by the Governor; one of whom shall be a

             

              representative of the business industry, to be appointed by the Speaker; one of whom shall be a

              municipal planner, to be appointed by the President of the Senate; and one of whom shall be a

              municipal zoning official, to be appointed by the President of the Senate.
