| RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES -- RHODE ISLAND COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING AND LAND USE ACT |

| It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows: |
| SECTION 1. Section 45-22.2-2 of the General Laws in Chapter 45-22.2 entitled "Rhode |
| Island Comprehensive Planning and Land Use Act" is hereby amended to read as follows: |
| 45-22.2-2. Status of comprehensive plans; relation to other statutes. -- (a) All |
| lawfully adopted comprehensive plans shall remain in full force and effect but shall be brought |
| into conformance with this chapter prior to June 1, July 1, 2016 2017. |
| (b) Nothing contained in this chapter is construed to supersede or diminish any |
| regulatory or planning authority granted or delegated to a state agency by state or federal statute. |
| SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
