It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows

SECTION 1. Section 28-29-30 of the General Laws in Chapter 28-29 entitled "Workers' Compensation -- General Provisions" is hereby amended to read as follows:

28-29-30. Advisory council. -- (a) There is hereby created a workers' compensation advisory council consisting of {DEL eleven (11) DEL} {ADD fifteen (15) ADD} members as follows:

(1) The chief judge {DEL and the former vice chairperson of the former workers' compensation court; DEL} {ADD of the workers' compensation court and one (1) additional judge of the workers' compensation court to be selected by the chief judge. ADD}

(2) The director of business regulation;

(3) The director of administration;

(4) {DEL One DEL} {ADD Three (3) ADD} representative{ADD s ADD} from labor appointed by the governor, one (1) of whom shall be an injured worker;

(5) {DEL One DEL} {ADD Three (3) ADD} representative{ADD s ADD} from {DEL industry DEL} {ADD business ADD} appointed by the governor, one (1) of whom shall be a self-insured employer, and one (1) of whom shall represent cities and towns;

(6) {DEL Two (2) representatives from the general public appointed by the governor; DEL}

(7) The chairperson of the senate labor committee or his or her designee; and

(8) The chairperson of the house labor committee or his or her designee;

(9) The director of labor {ADD and training ADD} ;

(10) The manager of the workers' compensation insurance fund.

(b) It shall be the duty of the council to advise the governor and the general assembly, on a {DEL quarterly DEL} {ADD annual ADD} basis, on the administration of the workers' compensation system.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
