It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows
SECTION 1. Chapter 23-3 of the General Laws entitled "Vital Records" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 23-3-25.1. Veterans' exemption for fees for copies and searchers. -- ADD} {ADD Any veteran who served honorably in the military or naval service of the United States shall be processed without a charge or fee when making a request for vital statistics regarding a request for his or her own personal records. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
