It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows

SECTION 1. Chapter 23-17 of the general laws entitled "Licensing of Health Care Facilities" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

{ADD 23-17-47. Identification badges. -- ADD} {ADD A health care facility shall require all persons, including students, who examine, observe or treat a patient or resident of such facility to wear a photo identification badge which states, in a reasonably legible manner, the first name, licensure registration status, if any, and staff position of such person. ADD}

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
