S E N A T E    R E S O L U T I O N

PROCLAIMING MARCH 16-22, 1997 TO BE "TALL CEDAR WEEK IN RHODE ISLAND"

WHEREAS, March 18, 1997 marks the 95th Anniversary of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America; and

WHEREAS, The Supreme Forest of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America has proclaimed the week of March 16-22, 1997 to be "Tall Cedar Week"; and

WHEREAS, The Tall Cedars are deeply committed to the search for a cure for neuromuscular diseases and continued support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's research programs through the Tall Cedar Foundation; and

WHEREAS, The Tall Cedars of Lebanon is an asset to the communities in which Forests are organized because of its dedication to helping its members become citizens who are socially aware and active in community programs; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby joins Massasoit Forest No. 91 of East Providence in celebrating the laudatory goals of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America by proclaiming March 16-22, 1997 to be TALL CEDAR WEEK IN RHODE ISLAND; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Donald R. Brown, Grand Tall Cedar, Massasoit Forest No. 91 of East Providence, Rhode Island.
