WHEREAS, The new Medium Security Unit II at the Adult Correctional Facilities is opening on April 3, 1997, and security and public safety of neighborhood residents are of paramount importance to the citizens of Cranston; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests that the Department of Corrections establish a policy to immediately address the security and public safety concerns of area residents of the city of Cranston concerning the Medium Security Unit II at the Adult Correctional Facilities; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Director of the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.
