WHEREAS, The knowledge of mathematics is an integral component to the future of our highly technical society; and

WHEREAS, In a world that is becoming increasingly dependent upon technologyk a well-rounded education in mathematics is necessary to foster the growth and prosperity of our nation; and

WHEREAS, For many mathematicicians, teaching math is an art with various rhythms andpoetic stanzas which make learning fun and easy; and

WHEREAS, An understanding of mathematics is essential to technical areas of study, including the sciences, engineering, business and economics. In addition, mathematics also is an integral part of ordinary daily life in the home, on the job and in recreational activities; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Joint Policy Board for Mathematics at 1529 Eighteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC., 20036.
