H O U S E    R E S O L U T I O N

EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHIES AND CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF JOSEPH G. MOLLIS, JR.

WHEREAS, Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph G. and Catherine Mollis, Joseph Mollis was the devoted husband of Gloria and loving father of Mayor A. Ralph Mollis, II of North Providence, Catherine Ciolfi and Joseph G. Mollis, III; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Mollis was a PGA golf pro for 18 years; he was a dedicated member of his community who served North Providence as a former police officer; he was a member of the North Providence Democratic Committee and past chairman of the North Providence Charter Commission; and

WHEREAS, The last years of his life, Joe Mollis concentrated his efforts to fulfilling his wish for his son to realize his dream of becoming Mayor of the town he loved so much. His hard work and dedication to this goal was culminated in January, 1997 when A. Ralph Mollis was inaugurated as the third Mayor of the town of North Providence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby extends its deepest condolences on the passing of Joseph G. Mollis, Jr. and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to North Providence Mayor A. Ralph Mollis, II.
