It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20-2-14 of the General Laws in Chapter 20-2 entitled "Licensing" is hereby amended to read as follows:
20-2-14. Licenses -- Expiration. -- {ADD (a) ADD} Unless otherwise in this title specified, all licenses issued hereunder shall be annual and shall expire on December 31 of every year.
{ADD (b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (a) of this section, all commercial fishing licenses issued under sections 20-2-20(a), 20-2-20(b), 20-2-21, 20-2-24(a), 20-2-25, 20-2-26, 20-2-26.1(a), 20-2-27(a), 20-2-27(b), 20-2-27(c), 20-2-28(a) and 20-2-28.1(a) shall be annual and shall expire on June 30 of every year. The fee for any such commercial fishing license issued hereunder between January 1, 1999 and June 30, 1999, which license is to expire on June 30, 1999, shall be one-half (1/2) of the amount otherwise provided in this title. SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on January 1, 1999.
