A N     A C T

RELATING TO DAYS OF SPECIAL OBSERVANCE

Introduced By: Representatives Shavers, Metts, Castro, Lopes and Benson

It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 25-2 of the General Laws entitled "Days of Special Observance" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:

{ADD 25-2-39. Dr. George Washington Carver Recognition Day. --ADD}{ADD The fifth day of January shall annually be set apart as a day to be known as "Dr. George Washington Carver Recognition Day". The day is to be observed by the people of this state with appropriate exercises in public places and otherwise commemorative of Dr. George Washington Carver. ADD}

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
