It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 42-72.5-1 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-72.5 entitled "Children's Cabinet" is hereby amended to read as follows:
42-72.5-1. Establishment. -- There is hereby established
within the executive branch of state government a children's cabinet.
The cabinet shall be comprised of: the director of the department
of administration; the director of the department of children,
youth, and families; the director of the department of mental
health, retardation, and hospitals; the director of the department
of health; the commissioner of higher education; the commissioner
of elementary and secondary education; the director of the department
of human services; {DEL the director of state library services DEL}
{ADD chief information officer; the director of the department of
labor and training ADD}; and the director of policy in the governor's
office. The governor shall designate one of the members of the
cabinet to be chairperson.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
