It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 35-3-5 of the General Laws in Chapter 35-3 entitled "State Budget" is hereby amended to read as follows:
35-3-5. Estimates for legislature and judiciary. -- Itemized estimates of the financial needs of the legislature and of the judiciary shall be submitted by the budget officer to the governor on or before the first day of October for inclusion in the budget, with such recommendations by the governor as he or she may deem proper to submit to the general assembly. {ADD The budget officer shall provide copies to the House Fiscal Advisor and the Senate Fiscal Advisor. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
