It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20-3-7 of the General Laws in Chapter 20-3 entitled "Marine Fisheries Council" is hereby amended to read as follows:
20-3-7. Regulation of fishing in Great Salt Pond. --
{DEL The DEL} {ADD Notwithstanding the provisions of sections
20-10-1 thru 20-10-4 of the General Laws, the ADD} electors of
the town of New Shoreham may, in town meeting called for that
purpose, enact such ordinances as they may think proper, to protect
and to regulate the taking of shellfish and other fish in Great
Salt Pond, and may impose penalties therefor, not exceeding a
fine of two hundred dollars ($200) and three (3) months imprisonment
for any one offense.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
