MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN CLAIMS

RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2000-2001, the sums stipulated to pay the claims of the following:

Senator Celona

the sum of $366.00 to pay the claim of Richard A. Lemek of 833 Steere Farm Road, Harrisville, Rhode Island 02830 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 44, westbound and the Rhode Island State Police Barracks in the Town of Chepachet, on or about February 21, 2000;

Senator Sosnowski

the sum of $140.95 to pay the claim of Martha Badigan of 122 Meadow Avenue, Wakefield, Rhode Island 02879 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 108 and Route 138 in the Town of Kingston on or about November 22, 1999;

Senator Bates

the sum of $268.33 to pay the claim of Peter C. Brown of 22 Columbus Avenue, Barrington, Rhode Island 02806 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Massasoit Avenue westbound and Agawam Street in the Town of Barrington on or about February 26, 2000;

Senator Patterson

the sum of $263.08 to pay the claim of Jill Coppola of 204 Steamboat Avenue, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Post Road southbound in the Town of North Kingstown on or about January 28, 2000;

Senator Lenihan

the sum of $260.00 to pay the claim of Sharon L. Donnelly of 113 Butternut Drive, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 1, southbound at the Irish Pub in the Town of North Kingstown on or about January 31, 2000;

Senator Gallo

the sum of $567.27 to pay the claim of Janet S. Fogarty of 8 Fairview Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island 02905 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Allens Avenue just north of Route 95 overpass in the City of Providence on or about June 23, 1999;

Senator Patterson

the sum of $422.60 to pay the claim of Jane B. LaForge of 46 Ponte Lane, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 1 southbound and the Irish Pub in the Town of North Kingstown, on or about January 31, 2000;

the sum of $331.00 to pay the claim of Tara B. Martin of 15 Hollywood Avenue, Narragansett, Rhode Island 02886 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 95, northbound and exit 30, in the City of Pawtucket, on or about November 11, 1998;

Senator Tocco

the sum of $513.52 to pay the claim of Sheila O'Connor of 171 Pine Hill Road, Johnston, Rhode Island 02919 for damages to her vehicle when it was splashed with road pain on Admiral Kalbfus Road, in the City of Newport during the performance of striping/painting operations on or about December 2, 1998;

the sum of $98.42 to pay the claim of Raquel Palhinha of 33 Scott Drive, Riverside, Rhode Island 02915 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect on Route 146 northbound about a 1/2 mile before Branch Avenue exit in the City of Providence on or before February 25, 2000;

Senator McDonald

the sum of $390.00 the pay the claim of Michael Paliotti, PO Box 547, Saunderstown, Rhode Island 02874 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Bridge Town Road in the Town of Narragansett on or about June 14, 1998;

Senator Tocco

the sum of $199.76 to pay the claim of Mark Vieira of 2536 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, Rhode Island 02919 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Hartford Avenue eastbound and Kay Street in the town of Johnston, on or about April 17, 1999;

Senator Celona

the sum of $92.68 to pay the claim of Garry Williams, Jr. Of 43 Metcalf Avenue, North Providence, Rhode Island 02911 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 5^th Avenue and College Road in the Town of North Providence, on or about August 22, 1999;

the sum of $78.15 to pay the claim of Ralph H. Woodmansee of 1122 Main Street, PO Box 246, Wyoming, Rhode Island 02898 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 1775 Post Road southbound, in the Town of North Kingstown on or about January 31, 2000;

and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the General Treasurer for the payment of said sums.
