MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN CLAIMS

RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2000-2001, the sums stipulated to pay the claims of the following:

Representative Carpenter

the sum of $211.42 to pay the claim of Robert Bodish of 12B Windermere Avenue, Vernon, Connecticut 06066 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 295 northbound between exits 3 and 6 at the Cranston/Johnston line on or about September 17, 1999;

Representative Carter

the sum of $149.66 to pay the claim of Clarke W. Cate of 8 Lowell Drive, Johnston, Rhode Island 02919 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 6, West ramp to Atwood Avenue, in the town of Johnston, on or about April 27, 1999;

Representative Henseler

the sum of $490.00 to pay the claim of Dr. David L. Cichy of 831 North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Tower Hill Road southbound and West Allenton Road in the town of North Kingstown on or about January 16, 2000;

Representative Menard

the sum of $440.12 to pay the claim of Louisa C. Cicilline of 200 Heroux Boulevard, #1001, Cumberland, Rhode Island 02864 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 44, eastbound and approximately 400 feet west of Route 295 in the town of Smithfield, on or about October 8, 1999;

Representative Millard

the sum of $469.37 to pay the claim of Margaret Gladding of 91 Beach Road, Bristol, Rhode Island 02809 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 114 southbound and a half a mile north of the Melville School in the town of Portsmouth on or about June 13, 1999;

Representative Watson

the sum of $60.00 to pay the claim of Patricia A. Hambrick of 7 Trappers Lane, East Greenwich, Rhode Island 02818 for towing charges incurred when her vehicle was stopped and determined by East Greenwich Police to have an expired registration, based on information wrongly entered and furnished by the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles Data System, in the city of Pawtucket on or about December 11, 1998;

Representative Carpenter

the sum of $2,204.35 to pay the claim of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, 114 Turnpike Road, P.O. Box 5104, Westborough, Massachusetts 01581 as subrogee of Lori R. Jackson, of 26 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, Rhode Island 02882, for damages to their insured's vehicle when it was struck by a deer at or near Galilee Escape Road, westbound in the town of Narragansett on or about April 2, 1999;

Representative Munschy

the sum of $1,467.50 to pay the claim of Darlene Marty of 65 Seamans Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island 02895 for damages to her vehicle when it was struck by airborne stones catapulted by a weedwacker under the care, custody and control of a state employee at or near the entrance to the World War II State Park, on Social Street in the city of Woonsocket on or about July 5, 1999;

Representation McNamara

the sum of $92.50 to pay the claim of Paul K. McDonald of 26 Black Creek Lane, Warwick, Rhode Island 02888 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Wickenden Street and Route 195, in the city of Providence on or about February 18, 2000;

the sum of $171.01 to pay the claim of Henry Novodgrowski of 17 Endicatt Street, Cranston, Rhode Island 02910 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Park Avenue eastbound and on ramp to Route 10 in the city of Cranston on or about January 20, 1999;

Representative Menard

the sum of $555.38 to pay the claim of Raymond Poulin of 418 New River Road, Manville, Rhode Island 02838 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Albion Road, approximately 1/4 mile from Mendon Road in the town of Cumberland on or about February 26, 2000;

Representative Gorham

the sum of $543.75 to pay the claim of Loretta V. Rotondo of 50 Kennedy Road, Foster, Rhode Island 02825 for damages to her vehicle when it was splashed with road paint on Route 6 westbound near the State Line Diner in the town of Foster during the performance of striping/painting operations on or about July 16, 1999;

Representative Hogan

the sum of $432.00 to pay the claim of Elaine C. Santucci of 22 Oakhurst Drive, Greenville, Rhode Island 02828 for personal injuries she sustained as a result of a trip and fall incident at or near Roger Wheeler State Beach in the town of Galilee on or about July 11, 1999;

Representative Vieira

the sum of $556.29 to pay the claim of Steward Construction Company, P.O. Box 683, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02862-0683 for damages to his employee's truck when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 95, southbound, at Charles Street in the city of Providence on or about June 16, 1995;

Representative Amaral

the sum of $434.45 to pay the claim of Ruth E. Sullivan of 68 Narragansett Avenue, Tiverton, Rhode Island 02878 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 24, southbound at the Sakonnet Bridge in the town of Tiverton, on or about October 18, 1999;

Representative Malik

the sum of $209.69 to pay the claim of Debra J. Turnbull of 77 Arlington Avenue, Warren, Rhode Island 02885 for damages to her vehicle when it became entangled on the lane restrictor at parking lot #2, Scarborough State Beach North, in the town of Narragansett on or about July 31, 1999;

and the controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his or her orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of said sums.
