CONGRATULATING T. WILLIAM PEPPER ON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT

WHEREAS, In a society that grows increasingly fragmented and fractious, and all too often tempts its youth to selfish and unwise decisions, it is a very special young man who chooses to dedicate himself to the service of others by putting into practice the noble ideals of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. T. William Pepper is just such a first-rate youth, and his accomplishments are truly deserving of our recognition; and

WHEREAS, Working his way towards Eagle Scout, T. William Pepper achieved Merit Badges in Basketry, Camping, Citizenship in the Community, Nation, and World, Climbing, Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Science, Family Life, Fingerprinting, First Aid, Fish and Wildlife, Genealogy, Indian Lore, Leatherwork, Mammal Study, Metalwork, Nature, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, Reptile Study, Safety, Soil and Water Conservation, Stamp Collecting, Small Boat Sailing, Swimming, and Wood Carving; and

WHEREAS, T. William Pepper has led others in many capacities, such as Chaplains Aid, Quartermaster, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader; and

WHEREAS, He has also received various Special Awards, including: Recruiter Strip; Totin' Chip; World Conservation Award; God and Country; and Order of the Arrow; and

WHEREAS, T. William has also been involved in many Camp Yawgoog Segments including Yawgoog Patch, RI, MB, TP, Ecology, Bronze CY, Gold CY, Silver CY, Campcraft, HAT, Recycle, Rifle, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and Veteran, Worship, Canoeing, AI, AII, AIII, AC, Repelling, Skipper, Hiker of Yawgoog, Kayaking, Trap, Troop of the Week, Eagle Camp; Staff, SPL, and OA; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby honors T. William Pepper for all he has done to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. Convinced that T. William's distinguished career in Scouting will prepare him for a life replete with accomplishments and success, the membership is, likewise, certain that he will continue to dedicate a large part of that life to the service of others; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to T. William Pepper.
