H  O  U  S  E     R  E  S  O  L  U  T  I  O  N

MEMORIALIZING CONGRESS TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO REPAIR STONE BRIDGE IN TIVERTON

Introduced By:  Representatives Amaral and Quick Date Introduced:  February 8, 2001

WHEREAS, Stone Bridge serves as a natural breakwater to the harbor, and is in imminent danger of collapsing; and

WHEREAS, Without said Bridge, the basin which includes anchorage, fishing docks and homes along the waterfront would be wide open to waves rolling up the Sakonnet River from the south; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests the United States Congress to provide funding to repair Stone Bridge in Tiverton; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the Rhode Island delegation to the Congress of the United States.
