S  E  N  A  T  E     R  E  S  O  L  U  T  I  O  N

AMENDING THE RULES OF THE SENATE FOR THE YEARS 2001-2002

RESOLVED, That rule 6.2 of the senate which was adopted by the senate at it's January session, A.D. 2001, entitled "SENATE RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE RULES OF THE SENATE FOR THE YEARS 2001 AND 2002," be and it is hereby amended to read as follows:

6.2 Committee Agenda -- Posting.

At least two (2) days before any standing committee meeting, a committee agenda containing the number, title and a short explanation of the bill to be considered must be placed on the bulletin boards provided for such agenda, . and a copy placed on the desk of each senator. The clerk of each committee shall on the same day; (a) send a copy of said agenda to each senator via electronic mail; and (b) notify the principal sponsor of each bill on said agenda, via electronic mail, of the fact that his or her bill has been scheduled for hearing and/or consideration. The rule shall not apply to bills previously passed by the senate and amended by the house. There shall be at least two bulletin boards for such posting, at least one of which shall be for the public's use and shall be under the control and situated at the main entrance to the state library. There shall also be at least one bulletin board for the exclusive use of the senators which shall be situated in a convenient location. For the purpose of this section 6.2 only, all Mondays and days of recess during the session of the general assembly (exclusive of Saturdays and Sundays) shall be considered legislative days.
