MEMORIALIZING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO NAME THE SUNDAY PRIOR TO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AS "NEIGHBOR DAY"

WHEREAS, In 2001, the Rhode Island House of Representatives passed Resolution #210 designating the Sunday prior to Memorial Day Weekend, as "Neighbor Day"; now therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby memorializes the United States Congress to enact similar legislation throughout the United States; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to the United Nations and the Rhode Island delegation to the United States Congress.
