S  E  N  A  T  E     R  E  S  O  L  U  T  I  O  N

RESPECTFULLY URGING GOVERNOR ALMOND TO EXPEDITIOUSLY APPOINT THE ELEVEN (11) MEMBER CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD TO THE RHODE ISLAND RESOURCE RECOVERY CORPORATION

WHEREAS, The Rhode Island General Assembly passed legislation creating an eleven (11) member Advisory Board to the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation; and

WHEREAS, It has been determined that the Citizen Advisory Board has never been appointed since the inception of the law in the early 1970's; and

WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Resource Recovery Facility has expanded and has a direct impact on the residents of Johnston and Cranston and surrounding areas; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully urges Governor Almond to expeditiously appoint the eleven (11) member Citizens Advisory Board to the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation in accordance with the requirements of Rhode Island General Laws section 23-19-23; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Governor Lincoln Almond.
