H O U S E R E S O L U T I O N
PROCLAIMING JUNE 14, 2001 AS" HENRY "HANK" JOSEPH MCDEED, JR. DAY" IN THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND
WHEREAS, Henry "Hank" Joseph McDeed, Jr. came smiling into the world on January 17, 1957 in Attleboro, Massachusetts. This witty and athletic son of Henry and Irene McDeed is also the devoted brother of Kathy, Maureen and Eileen; and
WHEREAS, Hank embarked upon his lofty academic career at Bishop Feehan High School. In pursuit of higher educational goals, he attended Dean Junior College and Bridgewater State College, where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees; and
WHEREAS, A love of children and athletics led Henry to teaching and coaching in the Seekonk Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, Seekonk's loss was Lincoln's greatest gain, when Henry brought his dedication, compassion and wit to Lincoln High School in 1997 as Assistant Principal. He remains there to this day as a valued friend and mentor to both the students and teachers; and
WHEREAS, Hank's journey of service to young people and the community at large has been shared and encouraged by his wife Karen and his three children, Ryan, Cailin and Kimberly; and
WHEREAS, Hank now embarks upon a new phase of his career as Assistant Principal of the Canton High School in Canton, Massachusetts. He takes with him not only his energy and wisdom, but his love of Snickers, Diet Mountain Dew and the Sopranos; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby proclaims June 14, 2001 as "Henry "Hank" Joseph McDeed, Jr. Day" in the State of Rhode Island and extends their best wishes for his every success and happiness; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Henry Joseph McDeed, Jr.
