MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY CERTAIN CLAIMS

RESOLVED, That there is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated for the fiscal year 2001-2002 the sums stipulated to pay the claims of the following:

Representative Simonian;

the sum of $171.01 to pay the claim of Henry Novodgrowski of 17 Endicott Street, Cranston, Rhode Island 02910 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Park Avenue eastbound, on an on ramp for Route 10 in the city of Cranston on or about January 20, 1999;

Representative Kilmartin;

the sum of $163.40 to pay the claim of Peter D. Allard of 61 Mendon Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02861 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Break Neck Hill Road and Great Road, in the town of Lincoln, on or about June 11, 2000;

Representative Henseler;

the sum of $316.98 to pay the claim of Joan T. Armada of 39 Forest Park Drive, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 6459 Post Road, eastbound in the town of North Kingstown on or about September 2, 2000;

the sum of $228.36 to pay the claim of Mary Sue Arsenault of 125 Smith Street, 12-D, Greenville, Rhode Island 02828 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 44 eastbound opposite Route 195 on Putnam Avenue in the town of Johnston on or about December 18, 2000;

the sum of $576.92 to pay the claim of Althea C. Bagdanovich of 64 Downes Avenue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02861, for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 95 southbound and Route 146 eastbound merge in the city of Providence on or about November 18, 2000;

the sum of $185.45 to pay the claim of John R. Cashman of 17 Rustwood Drive, Barrington, Rhode Island 02806 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a large boulder in front of 320 New Meadow Road, in the town of Barrington on or about June 15, 1999;

Representative Montanaro;

the sum of $365.66 to pay the claim of Amica Mutual Insurance Company, PO Box 6008, Providence, Rhode Island 02940 as subrogee of Lucille N. Creamer of 9 Country Meadow Drive, Cranston, Rhode Island 02921 for damages to their insured's vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Elder Ballou Meeting House Road, in the city of Woonsocket, on or about May 29, 2000;

the sum of $731.59 to pay the claim of Anne Marie DeMello of 33 Wildflower Road, Warwick, Rhode Island 02886 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Allens Avenue northbound and Thurbers Avenue in the city of Providence on or about January 20, 1999;

the sum of $220.74 to pay the claim of Raymond F. Doherty of 127 Indian Run Trail, Smithfield, Rhode Island 02917 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 104 and Pole 196 in the town of Smithfield on or about November 23, 1999;

the sum of $190.00 to pay the claim of Marianne Gianfrancesco of 113 Fairweather Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island 02910 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 10 northbound and the southbound connector in the city of Providence on or about June 7, 2000;

the sum of $75.02 to pay the claim of Peter Gobis of 5 Judith Avenue, Narragansett, Rhode Island 02882 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect (in a construction zone) at or near Route 108 southbound and MacArthur Boulevard in the town of Wakefield on or about October 6, 2000;

the sum of $354.12 to pay the claim of Sarah M. Godino of 27 Congdon Street, Narragansett, Rhode Island 02882 for damages to the vehicle she was operating when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 2 southbound and Stony Lane in the town of South Kingstown on or about February 13, 2001;

Representative Shanley;

the sum of $107.12 to pay the claim of Kim E. Kay of 47 Sweet Allen Farm Road, Wakefield, Rhode Island 02879 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near Route 138 eastbound near Route 1 in the town of South Kingstown on or about April 15, 2000;

the sum of $383.25 to pay the claim of Anne Khan of 52 Yorktown Road, North Kingstown, Rhode Island 02852 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 6790 Post Road in the town of North Kingstown on or about September 13, 2000;

Representative Menard;

the sum of $837.11 to pay the claim of Michele L. Lauzon of 103 School Street, Albion, Rhode Island 02802 for damages to her vehicle when it was struck by snow and debris plowed onto it when being driven on Sayles Hill Road northbound, and under the Route 99 bridge in the town of Manville on or about December 14, 2000;

the sum of $391.77 to pay the claim of Renee Marshall of 97 Leahy Drive, Bristol, Rhode Island 02809 for damages to her vehicle when it was allegedly struck by airborne debris from a building sanding and paint removal procedure at or near the north parking lot located at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, in the town of Bristol, on or about September 27, 2000;

the sum of $326.00 to pay the claim of James M. Peterssen of 306 Samuel Gorton Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island 02889 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 1245 Bald Hill Road and the Target Store in the city of Warwick on or about April 25, 2000;

Representative Amaral;

the sum of $146.95 to pay the claim of James E. Simonetti of 112 Russell Drive, Tiverton, Rhode Island 02878 for damages to his vehicle when it struck a highway defect at or near 763 Reservoir Avenue in the city of Cranston on or about November 13, 2000;

Representative Reilly;

the sum of $567.41 to pay the claim of Fran Splendorio of 43 Venice Avenue, Johnston, Rhode Island 02919 for damages to her vehicle when it struck a light pole that had been struck in an earlier occurrence and lay in the roadway at or near Route 95 southbound and Exit 22 in the city of Providence, on or about November 27, 2000;

Representative Rabideau;

the sum of $311.02 to pay the claim of Marcia Yagnesak of 1745 Victory Highway, PO Box 231, Glendale, Rhode Island 02826 for damages to her vehicle when it struck an expansion joint protruding from the roadway at or near Route 295 southbound between mile markers 11 and 12 and the bridge over Greenville Avenue in the town of Johnston on or about December 28, 2000; and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his orders upon the general treasurer for the payment of said sums.
