HOUSE RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO REPLACE THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER ROUTE 6 IN THE CITY OF PROVIDENCE

WHEREAS, The collapse of the pedestrian crossing bridge over Route 6 in the City of Providence has left the residents of the Hartford Park community in a potentially dangerous situation; and

WHEREAS, This pedestrian crossing bridge was used by students going to Oliver Hazard Perry Middle School, neighborhood children and residents. without the use of the crossing bridge, the safety of the residents of the Hartford Park community is in serious peril; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests the director of the department of transportation to expeditiously replace the pedestrian crossing bridge over Route 6 in the city of Providence before an unfortunate tragedy occurs; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the secretary of state be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the director of the department of transportation.
