SENATE RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING MAY 1996 TO BE LIFE INSURANCE MONTH IN RHODE ISLAND

WHEREAS, More families own life insurance than any other form of personal protection; and

WHEREAS, Life insurance underwriting is the process of identifying risks and offering solutions which protect and enhance the financial lives of individuals and businesses by using life insurance and other closely related financial products; and

WHEREAS, Life insurance renders a great service by carrying policyholder dollars back to Rhode Island where they aid all segments of the economy; and

WHEREAS, All persons can benefit by professional financial advice and informed decisions about life insurance; and

WHEREAS, The Rhode Island Life Underwriters Association is cooperating in a program to inform the public of the many and varied aspects of life insurance and life underwritings; and

WHEREAS, RILUA continues to make a difference in the community by sponsoring and supporting numerous civic organizations including the March of Dimes, the Organ Donor program and HOSPICE of Rhode Island. In 1992, the Rhode Island Special Olympics recognized RILUA for "Outstanding Community Service", while thanking RILUA for "Helping to Make Our Dreams Come True"; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations does hereby proclaim May 1996 as Life Insurance Month in Rhode Island; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the President of the Rhode Island Life Underwriters Association.
