SENATE RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION TO UTILIZE UNUSED AIR CONDITIONERS

WHEREAS, The buildings which presently house the University of Rhode Island Extension School and some portions of the department of environmental management, and some of these buildings contain window air conditioner units; and

WHEREAS, Air conditioning can be vital to the health and safety of the citizens of the state of Rhode Island at risk during extreme weather conditions; and

WHEREAS, There are many community organizations existing who could put these units to use during periods of extreme weather conditions; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, That the director of the department of administration is respectfully requested to establish a plan to recycle and insure utilization of the window air conditioner units presently in the University of Rhode Island and the department of environmental management buildings; and be if further

RESOLVED, That the secretary of state be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the director of the department of administration.
