SENATE RESOLUTION RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT THE DIVISION OF INSURANCE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS REGULATION CONDUCT HEARINGS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE PASSAGE OF THIS RESOLUTION REGARDING THE INSURANCE RATE STRUCTURE FOR STUDENTS WHO VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER VALID RHODE ISLAND OPERATOR LICENSES

RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests that the Division of Insurance within the Department of Business Regulation conduct hearings within 60 days of the passage of this resolution regarding the structure for auto insurance rates as applied to full-time college students who choose to temporarily surrender valid Rhode Island operator licenses for the duration of the school year, or for as long as they retain their status as students; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Alfonso Mastrostefano, the Associate Director and Superintendent of Insurance within the Department of Business Regulation.
