HOUSE RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING CONGRESS TO ALLOCATE FUNDING TO THE SOUTHEAST ASIAN YOUTH AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN THE CITY OF PROVIDENCE FOR ANTI-GANG AND ANTI-DRUG PROGRAMS

WHEREAS, The Southeast Asian Youth and Family Development Project is a five-year anti-gang and anti-drug program that has received federal financial support throughout its first four years of existence; and

WHEREAS, There are currently no funds in the projected federal budget to finance the final year of the project. If properly funded through its fifth year, it is believed that the project will, thereafter, become self-supporting; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby memorializes the Congress of the United States to allocate funding from some existing federal program to finance the fifth and final year of the Southeast Asian Youth and Family Development Project in the City of Providence for continuation of the anti-gang and anti-drug program; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to all of the members of the Rhode Island delegation to the United States Congress.
