WHEREAS, Every Rhode Island child's mental health is important. Mental health problems in children are real, painful, debilitating and can do great harm to a child's physical and emotional well being; and
WHEREAS, These mental health problems can be recognized with proper attention, and caring people, working as partners, can provide effective treatment and services to children with mental health problems in their own communities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby proclaims the month of May, 1996 to be "Care for Every Child's Mental Health" month; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families and the Rhode Island Mental Health Association.
