H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT FACILITIES WITH AUTOMATIC DRUG DISPENSING DEVICES INSPECT AND COUNT DOSAGE UNITS

Introduced By: Representatives Dennigan, Wasylyk and Benoit

Date Introduced : February 26, 1998

RESOLVED, That in facilities with automatic drug dispensing devices (i.e. Pyxis), nurses, pharmacists or physicians from each shift shall visually inspect and count all Schedule II and Schedule III dosage units not located in the pharmacy areas once per week. Records shall be maintained and signed by each nurse, pharmacist, or physician once per week. Any irregularities found shall be reported immediately to the appropriate supervisor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Dr. Patricia Nolan, Director of the Department of Health.
