H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR AND THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT TO CLOSE THE DRY BRIDGE LANDFILL IN NORTH KINGSTOWN UNTIL ALL ODOR VIOLATIONS ARE CORRECTED

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations respectfully request the Governor and the Director of the Department of Environmental Management to close the Dry Bridge Landfill in the town of North Kingstown until all offensive odors emanating from the landfill cease and are abated for a period of thirty (30) consecutive days without any odor violations as determined by the Department of Environmental Management and the town of North Kingstown prior to being allowed to resume operations; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to Governor Lincoln C. Almond and the Director of the Department of Environmental Management.
