WHEREAS, Residents living near the Tilcon-Capaldi Cranston Quarry live in fear that the constant blasting is causing structural damage to their homes and is a danger to the public safety; and
WHEREAS, It is also very annoying and puts a hamper on the quality of life to have to hear the constant loud blasting coming from the quarry; and
WHEREAS, Due to the recent increase in the complaints coming from the residents living near the quarry, it is imperative that the state fire marshall investigate blasting in quarries and recommend solutions to this serious problem; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests that Tilcon-Capaldi reduce the number and strength of blasting at its Cranston quarry; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Tilcon-Capaldi and the state fire marshall.
