H O U S E   R E S O L U T I O N

PROCLAIMING AUGUST 30, 1998 AS INTERNATIONAL LINCOLN LIONS CRITERIUM DAY

WHEREAS, The Lincoln Lions Club, in keeping with the Lions International motto, "We Serve", and in cooperation with the Ocean State Velo Club and the Rhode Racers Cycle Club (Eurotek) will hold circuit race for the blind with the support of various departments of the State of Rhode Island, the public safety departments of the Town of Lincoln and the local business community; and

WHEREAS, The purpose of this event is to raise funds to purchase equipment for a Lions Eye Mobile Unit which will be used to test school-age children, senior citizens and the public in general; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations supports this outstanding effort and most worthy cause, and hereby proclaims August 30, 1998 as International Lincoln Lions Criterium Day; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and he hereby is authorized and directed to transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Lincoln Lions Club, P.O. Box 566, Albion, RI 02802.
