It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SECTION 1. An act in amendment of an act passed at the January session, A.D. 1869, entitled "An act to incorporate the trustees of the People's Library in Newport " is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1. The trustees of the People's Library of Newport are
hereby authorized to take, hold and transmit real and personal
estate to an amount not exceeding {DEL two hundred and fifty
thousand DEL} {ADD ten million ADD} {ADD ($10,000,000.00) ADD} dollars.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.
