WHEREAS, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations desire to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Rhode Island; and
WHEREAS, The Poison Control Center has been a valuable resource and has been instrumental in preserving the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Rhode Island; and
WHEREAS, The loss of the Poison Control Center would be detrimental to citizens of Rhode Island and every effort should be made to retain said Poison Control Center; now therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations hereby respectfully requests that the Department of Health notify and report to the House of Representatives the status of the Poison Control Center and what efforts will be made to assure that this valuable resource will remain available to the citizens of Rhode Island; and be it further
RESOLVED. That the Secretary of State be and he is hereby authorized and directed to transmit duly certified copies of this resolution to Dr. Patricia Nolan, Director of the Department of Health, and Lincoln C. Almond, Honorable Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations
